Tomoaki Watabe (渡部 友昭, Watabe Tomoaki) is a journalist who worked for Niconiya news.
Background[]
Prior to the events of Chaos;Child Watabe had gained notoriety among the public as an up and coming journalist.
As a gigalomaniac he used his psychic photography powers to aid in his reporting.
Plot[]
Very soon after the Hekiho Newspaper Club made a video documenting the connection of Sumo Stickers to the Return of the New Generation Madness, Watabe also released an article documenting the subject. This lead to people online believing Watabe had plagiarized the club.
Most likely in order to smooth over public perception, Watabe requested to have an interview with the Newspaper Club during their school festival. The club accepted the proposition, however, on the day of the event Watabe arrived to the stage late. When he finally appeared on stage he had been stuffed full of Sumo Stickers and moments later died. This made him the fourth victim in the Return of the New Generation Madness.
Etymology[]
- The name Tomoaki means "friend" (友) (tomo) and "shining, bright" (昭) (aki).
- Tomoaki's surname Watabe means "transit, ford, ferry, cross, import, deliver, diameter, migrate" (渡) (wataru) and "part, department, category" (部) (be).
