Miyashita Park, also known as "Homeless Park", is one of Japan's biggest slums and where Takuru lived after he'd left Aoba Dorm. The park had been mostly abandoned during the recovery efforts after the Shibuya Earthquake. After the earthquake, orphans gathered in the park since it had always been where homeless people are.
