Hinae Arimura (有村 雛絵 Arimura Hinae) is one of the heroines in Chaos;Child. She is a 2nd-year high school student and the president of the literature club who was involved in the "Revolving Dead" Return of the New Gen incident where she was found unconscious on the floor in the room 305 at the love hotel.
Appearance[]
Hinae is a female teenager with blonde hair that is tied in twin pigtails by two white ribbons, violet-blue eyes and anime fangs.
Outfits[]
- In her school uniform, she would tie her pigtails with white ribbons and wear white thigh-high stockings.
- In her casual outfit, she would tie her pigtails with black ribbons and wears black thigh-high stockings instead. She also wears a white shirt with orange accents along with a sleeveless midnight-blue jacket and a blue skirt.
Personality[]
In most of the time, Hinae appears to be a trendy, stylish and energetic girl who likes tease around with people and read books.
In contrast to her usually cheerful appearance, Hinae is quite perceptive who is aware of the affairs in her surroundings and of people's hidden feelings. She can wear a much more serious appeal at times, and sometimes gets fed up with pretending to be interested in artificial and boring talks between her girl friends, hating the facade people tend to put up in front of her.

Hinae is born in 1999 to a family of two married parents and an older brother. Hinae and her brother would both celebrate each other's birthday and exchange gifts. While shopping for a gift for her brother, the white light appeared and the Shibuya Earthquake caused buildings to collapse around Hinae and causing her injury. When her parents found her, Hinae could not see her brother anywhere. Hinae ran away and looked for her brother at the condo they live in. Hinae found her brother under a rubble but failed to move it away. Shingo apologized for hiding the fact that he knew that they are not sibling and was initially planning to tell Hinae when she grew up. Shingo revealed that Hinae is not actually their parent's daughter and Hinae's true father is another man. Hinae's biggest shock was that her brother had been lying to her and this awakened Hinae to become a gigalomaniac. Her power allows her to tell is someone is telling the truth or lying, but it isn't perfect. Serika and Nono got by without exposing their true identities with careful wording.
In Hinae's route, Takuru doesn't unlock his telekinesis while they flee from Riko Haida, but they manage to escape. The New Gen murders appear solved, but then a new string of killings occur, people whom Hinae is connected to. Further, she fights her mother in coming home, and becomes haunted by delusions of her dead brother coming back to life to kill her (inadvertently caused by an idle word from Hana). It's eventually revealed that Hinae's mother is the new killer, and Takuru's gets wounded saving Hinae. Takuru appears to recover and starts dating Hinae, but the good ending reveals this to be a delusion; Takuru is actually in a coma, and Hinae blames herself for his nearly dying.
Etymology[]
- The name Hinae means "chick, squab, duckling, doll" (雛) (hina) and "picture, painting" (絵) (e).
- Hinae's surname Arimura means "exist" (有) (ari) and "town, village" (村) (mura).
Trivia[]
- Hinae is a fashion-conscious type high school student.
- Hinae's appearance and demeanor are analogous to Kozue Orihara from Chaos;Head as they both share similar hair color and style their hair with ribbons.
- Furthermore, both girls have radically different inner personalities than what they project outwards. While Kozue acts shy and fearful on the outside, she is bubbly and cheerful on the inside whereas Hinae is bubbly on the outside but really more restrained and serious on the inside.
