Gigalomaniac is a broad term often used to describe those with real-booting powers, meaning the ability of sharing their delusions and thoughts with other human beings, creating a shared perception of the same concept and thus forcing said concept into existence. In addition to that they have the ability to perceive others' delusions and other gigalomaniac's DI-Sword. An awakened gigalomaniac will be able to real-boot a DI-Sword.

Background[]

Gigalomaniacs came into the Committee of 300's attention after the Ir2 equation was real-booted. After failing to capture Shogun, they ordered N.O.Z.O.M.I , Ark Heart and several organizations to conduct secret experiments. Most of the important experiments involves the awakening of several gigalomaniacs by increasing their stress and biorhythm. The research of gigalomaniacs is a part of Project Noah and its objective is to perfect Noah II with the Ir2 equation. Noah II is a artificial gigalomaniac device which is build as a real-booting weapon to mind control all 5 senses of a human. Noah II's effective range can be increased by having porters which are people carrying around extender devices around different areas. It's designed as a way for the committee to dominate the world.

Known Gigalomaniacs[]

ChäoS;HEAd

  • Takumi Nishijou - pure gigalomaniac (mind-reading), awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress from involvement in the New Generation Madness. Currently powerless.
  • Rimi Sakihata - pure gigalomaniac (mind control), awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress under years of torture in the basement of AH Tokyo General Hospital that destroyed her original personality and countless other personalities, where she saw only darkness and had never seen a blue sky until Shogun showed her the blue sky and saved her.
  • Ayase Kishimoto - pure gigalomaniac (precognition), awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress under years of torture at Ark Heart Medical Group that included Chinese water torture.
  • Nanami Nishijou - pure gigalomaniac, awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress under torture after being kidnapped by Genichi Norose and having her right hand chopped off.
  • Yua Kusunoki - pure gigalomaniac, awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress from her identical twin Mia Kusunoki dying in The Group Dive, developing Dissociative Identity Disorder afterwards and forgetting which sister she was, and then meeting a delusion of her dead twin sister (created by a Porter) who tried to kill her.
  • Kozue Orihara - pure gigalomaniac (telepathy, DI-Sword expertise), awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress from having a phobia of mirrors and telepathic abilities her entire life that she could never turn off, and then being bullied so bad, it made her lose her sense of self and become mute.
  • Sena Aoi - pure gigalomaniac (DI-Sword expertise, invisibility), awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress from seeing her little sister Mana die and her mother go insane, eat her little sister, and then gouge out her own eyes, while her father just stood there and did nothing about it.
  • Genichi Norose - pure gigalomaniac (mind control, remote viewing), awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress. Deceased.
  • Shogun - pure gigalomaniac (remote viewing, mind control), awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress from real-booting the Ir2 equation. Deceased.

Chaos;Child

  • Takuru Miyashiro - formerly a Chaos Child patient, pure gigalomaniac (telekinetic). awakening caused by the white light of the Third Melt. Currently powerless.
  • Hinae Arimura - formerly a Chaos Child patient, partial gigalomaniac (lie detection). awakening caused by the white light of the Third Melt. Currently powerless.
  • Hana Kazuki - formerly a Chaos Child patient, partial gigalomaniac (delusion sharing through auditory means, though she has no control over how people perceive the auditory message, and thus outcome of the real-boot is often varied), awakening caused by the white light of the Third Melt. Currently powerless.
  • Senri Minamisawa - formerly a Chaos Child patient, partial gigalomaniac (shapeshifting, able to mimic appearance and voice flawlessly), awakening caused by the white light of the Third Melt. Currently powerless.
  • Uki Yamazoe - formerly a Chaos Child patient, partial gigalomaniac (able of real-booting others’ delusions). awakening caused by the white light of the Third Melt. Currently powerless.
  • Riko Haida - Chaos Child patient, partial gigalomaniac (pyrokinesis),
  • Serika Onoe - pure gigalomaniac, coming into existence as a gigalomaniac (mind reading), having been created by Takuru Miyashiro. Currently powerless.
  • Shuuichi Wakui - pure gigalomaniac (sound deprivation), awakening most probably caused by high levels of dopamine activity.
  • Wataru Sakuma - artificial gigalomaniac (mind control), received powers through machine, which Takuru destroyed.

Historical:

  • Albert Einstein - pure gigalomaniac, awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress from real-booting the equation E=mc2. Deceased.
  • Gladioul and the 7 Black Knights - pure gigalomaniacs who lived in Medieval Europe hundreds of years ago, written about in the Gladioul Saga, awakening due to high levels of dopamine activity, caused by extreme stress as a result of the lamentations from their own sins. Deceased and reincarnated again as the gigalomaniacs in Chaos;Head.
