Empire Sweeper Online 2, commonly abbreviated as ESO2, is the sequel to the original ESO from Chaos;Head.

The game seems to be relatively addictive, similar to the original ESO, which several people gave up on everything else to grind solely. Takumi Nishijou, for example, dedicated most of his time to ESO, and since transferring data to ESO2 was impossible, it resulted in a massive outrage from such invested gamers like himself. (Sister Centipede, the addict who maxed all the classes, the guy who hasn't logged out since release, etc...)

It can also be inferred that the game possesses a strong relation to Gigalomaniac powers found in both Chaos;Head and Chaos;Child, as it focuses on an RPG-style world that allows players to get away from the gloomy essence of reality. Similarly, Kazuki is extremely quiet and untalkative in the real world, but she is extremely casual and outgoing in the game, shown by her regular usage of emotes and teasing expressions to other players while chatting in ESO2. Similarly, it was ESO that allowed Takumi Nishijou to talk to Grimm about the New Generation Murders.

Consequently, the game can be seen as a facade for people struggling to fit in society. Kazuki, Nishijou, and other people who "kind of don't have a life" are extremely addicted to the Empire Sweeper Online games, a potential warning from the author about the dangers of gaming addiction.

Plot[]

It is often played by Hana Kazuki in the clubroom. In her route, Pandemic Call, monsters from the game are materialized in the real world.

Players[]

  • Hana Kazuki - plays under the in-game name "KatsuoHana". She is around Level 50.
  • Takumi Nishijou - plays under the in-game name "Neithardt".

Trivia[]

  • Like the first installment, ESO2 still takes place in "Baselard", which is modeled after medieval Europe.
  • Character data from ESO1 cannot be transferred to ESO2.
