Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu!! is a visual novel developed and published by 5pb. for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on March 30, 2017 in Japan. It is a romantic comedy spin-off of the 2014 game Chaos;Child and part of the Science Adventure Series (妄想科学ADV).
Gameplay[]
Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu!! is a visual novel game with a similar Delusion Trigger and the same Mapping Trigger as Chaos;Child but with a new "YES NO Trigger" in which the player answers a Yes or No questionnaire, which causes the story to branch into different heroine routes depending on the player's answers.
Plot[]
Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu!! is a direct sequel to Chaos;Child's ending but returns back to the events of Chaos;Child as a parody of a romantic comedy. The Return of the New Generation Madness is now actually just a dumb series of weird unfortunate events. The newspaper club ignored Takuru's investigations and decided that topics on high-school trends, fashion and stories of Hekiho should be part of their next paper instead. A psychological-personality test was one of them and as a demo, Takuru Miyashiro was chosen to be the first to answer them. Since then his life is no longer of a journalist or a right-sider and begins spending time with friends, family and girls based on what's reveal in the test as he experience bizarre new events that goes beyond a normie high-school boy.
Development and release[]
Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu!! was developed by 5pb., planned by Chiyomaru Shikura, produced by Tatsuya Matsubara, and directed by Yusuke Matsumoto. The game's character designs were done by Mutsumi Sasaki and music was done by Takeshi Abo. The scenario was written by Masashi Takimoto, Toru Yasumoto and Tsukasa Tsuchiya, under supervision by Eiji Umehara.[1] The game was first announced by Shikura in September 2016,[4] and was presented in Famitsu in November 2016, where its platforms and release date were revealed; at this point, development was said to be 30% finished.[2] The "yes/no" questionnaire was added as a new take on the series' "trigger system" of determining story outcomes.[1]
The game was released for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on March 30, 2017 in Japan, in both a standard release and a limited edition.[1] The latter includes a pillow cover, a school calendar, an original soundtrack album, and other items.[5] To coincide with this and the broadcast of the Chaos;Child anime, the original Chaos;Child game got a budget-priced re-release in March 2017.[1]
Reception[]
The PlayStation Vita version was the 18th best selling game in Japan during its opening week, selling 6,240 copies; meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 version did not appear on Media Create's weekly top 20 chart.[6]
